Fire is dynamic, and temperamental.
It can provide warmth, but left unchecked it will burn uncontrollably, even in a sand box.
Burying hot coals from a fire in sand might extinguish the flames, but that same sand can also lock in the heat of the smouldering coals, making it possible for the fire to reignite.
Fun fact: artist Andrea is a Sagittarius, one of the three fire signs of the zodiac.
